REGULATION

1. Objectives

The 15th Contest for Technical Pictures on Corrosion, organized by ABRACO - Brazilian Association of Corrosion, for INTERCORR 2008, has as its purpose to divulge the characteristics and visual aspects (morphology) of the different corrosion types, with didactic objectives.

2. Participants

The contest is open to all the directly or indirectly linked professionals to the problems and to the prevention of corrosion, as well as to ABRACO members and/or participants of the event.

3. Themes

All of the aspects of corrosion regarding parts and equipment.

4. Presentation

4.1 Both black and white as well as colored pictures will be accepted.

4.2 Each participant may compete with only one picture.

4.3 The pictures should be copied on glossy paper using dimensions of 20 cm x 25 cm. Pictures will not be accepted in other dimensions.

4.4 Mounted pictures and/or those that possess prominences for detail will not be accepted

4.5 No picture may contain any marks or information that may identify author(s) and/or enterprise(s).

4.6 The identification data should be found on the Registration Record.

4.7 Each one of the pictures should come with a Registration Record and a Term of Cession of Divulging Rights properly filled out and signed.

4.8 In case of more than one author, the Term of Cession of Divulging Rights should be signed by everyone; if it is an enterprise, this Term should be signed by the person in charge. Otherwise, the material may be disqualified.

5. Closing

The material should arrive at ABRACO´s office until April 11, 2008.

6. Preparation and Transport

All of the preparation expenses, packing, transport and eventual damages or losses are of the participants' whole and exclusive responsibility.

7. Judging

7.1 All of the INTERCORR - 2008 participants may vote for the picture of his/her own preference, mentioned on his own record, initialed by the President and/or Secretary of ABRACO, distributed together with the material of the Congress and deposited in a voting box, until 2:00 p.m. on the last day of the event. The counting of votes will be at 5:00 p.m. on the same day, in a public session.

7.2 Of the first five pictures with the largest number of votes, the first three placements will be chosen, by a commission to be organized by ABRACO.

7.3 the counting of votes and the announcement of the winners of the Contest will be made during the closing session of the Congress.

7.4 The jury's decision is final.

8. The award

The authors of the materials classified in first, second and third places will receive the awards

There will be just one prize per classification.
If there is more than one author for a picture, only one prize will be offered to be shared according to the authors' exclusive criterion; ABRACO will not have any responsibility for the destination of the prize.

9. Exhibition

All of the enrolled material will be exposed during INTERCORR 2008.

10. General conditions

10.1 All of the Contest material, regardless of the award, will be incorporated into ABRACO´s collection with the right to publish based on its criterion, without notice to the author(s), with due credits and restrictions will be mentioned when it is thus expressed explicitly on registering.

10.2 Material which is not according to the present Regulation will be disqualified automatically from the award, however it may take part in ABRACO´s technical collection.

10.3 all of the omitted cases will be decided upon by the jury.
