Prof. Manuel Morcillo
Position
Ph. D. in Chemical Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain).
Research Professor at the National Center for Metallurgical Research (CENIM) belonging to the Scientific Research Council (CSIC).
He has been Director of CENIM, Head of Corrosion and Protection Department at CENIM and President of the Ibero-American Association of Corrosion and Protection (AICOP). At the present time is Research Professor in the Department of Surface Engineering, Corrosion and Durability of CENIM and President of the International Corrosion Council (ICC).
His main research lines are corrosion in natural environments, mainly atmospheric corrosion, and anticorrosion protection by coatings, more specifically paints. He is author of more than 200 scientific publications in journals, and author and co-editor of various books.
He has been awarded by different journals and institutions, notably the NACE Fellow Award, granted by NACE International, and the Edward Greco Award granted by the International Corrosion Council.
