Resumo: The conversion in the United States to Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) in 2006 appears to have been followed by an increase in corrosion-related complaints downstream in the domestic fuel distribution system An industry task force was formed in 2010 to study the extent and nature of the phenomenon. Available field data suggests that depletion of corrosion inhibitors along with microbial-induced corrosion may be primary causes. A brief review of these subjects will be presented along with recommendations for remediation.
