Bijan Kermani

Dr Bijan Kermani is managing Director of KeyTech and a visiting Professor at University of Leeds and University College London. He has extensive knowledge of corrosion and metallurgy in hydrocarbon production. With more than 35 years experience with major oil operators holding various senior roles, he has led many trans-disciplinary materials and corrosion projects to fruition. His areas of expertise and technology interest spans over materials selection and corrosion mitigation in upstream and downstream operations. He combines these roles with academic activities at various universities including Manchester, Milan Polytechnique and other institutions. Bijan is a leading authority on oilfield corrosion and materials and has more than 60 publications on his field of expertise related to environment sensitive cracking, structural integrity and degradation, materials and inhibitor selection and corrosion control strategy. He has edited two prominent publications on CO2 corrosion, and established a new methodology in material design for sour service duties. He is a chartered engineer, fellows of several institutions, recipient of NACE 2007 Technical Achievement Award and chairs a number of international committees on oilfield corrosion. He is Certified NACE Corrosion Specialist and NACE Instructor for NACE (i) Internal Corrosion, (ii) Basic Corrosion and (iii) Designing for Corrosion Programs.
